I have been a teacher within Chinook's Edge for over 15 years and have been fortunate to have held a variety of roles from teaching grades 5 through to 12. In addition I served our school division as both Technology Integration Coordinator as well as Leaning Services Coordinator. I've also taught at the Post Secondary level at both Red Deer College and University of Calgary. My favorite place to be however, is in a school setting and for the last 7 years have taught primarily Senior High Humanities (Social Stufues and English). This is my 6th school year at Penhold Crossing School and currently this year I am teaching 7, 9, 10, 20, and 30 Social as well as LA 9.
In my spare time I like to travel and spend time outdoors. My most memorable travel experiences would have been Kenya as well as Ireland. I'm passionate about environmental education and volunteer quite a bit in my local community. My husband and I live on an acreage east of Penhold. I also was a hobby beekeeper for over 5 years.
I try to provide authentic learning experiences for students such as the building of the pollinator garden and hotel or volunteering in community with students such as the SPCA. I also volunteer at the school as the grad ceremony and banquet "coordinator" including the fundraising and event planning, which I really enjoy.
